It appears to be a late-war visor by a mom n' pop maker--it may be OK, but the condition and quality will never make it very salable.
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
what about the removed sweatshield? or are those just holes and lines where a sweatshield should have been placed if they had enough materials?
I can only support stonemint's comment. IMHO there was a sweatshield which, for some reason, broke or has been removed for another reason. This happened quite frequently. What is interesting is that the seam where the mohair-centerband is sewn together is at the back of the cap and not at the front, as usual (there it could be hidden under the insign).
there is no option this is a postwar cap transformed into a wartime example?
I would trust stonemint's opinion, yet it is difficult to give a final verdict without having the cap in hand. Look for yourself: 12 year luftwaffe visor
Need opinions on Luftwaffe Herman Goring Division Visor Cap...
Luftwaffe Flak Schirmmutze
ect.
I won it on ebay today, will learn a lot about it for sure. I 'll take some better detailed shots when I have it in my hands and repost it
