    Greetings Friends,
I've never been much of a Navy Collector and my knowledge of Nautical Collectibles is correspondingly limited...A friend of mine from Brooklyn, New York sent me this cap...swears it's German...I can't find a marking anywhere, and although I've studied the examples on the Forum, I would much rather rely on -and be grateful for- your Expertise and Opinions...
    cheers, Glenn

    Glenn--
I do not think it is German, but whatever it is, it is postwar.

    Hi Glen,
this visor is as German as I am - construction, detachable cover without seam at the front (one piece), visor, sweat band, chin strap - US of some kind IMHO!

    Hi Glen,
no, I'm not German, I am closer to Germany than your cap, though!

Thank you for your help...Perhaps you could point out how this differs, as I can't seem to see any obvious differences...So this is an American Visor?
    cheers, Glenn...

Take a look (and a feel!) at the visor and its underneath - plastic! The centerband without the cover - plastic again. Check the Guide to authentic TR visor hats for a Marine cap - e.g. here: KM Junior-Grade Blue-top Visors
and you'll immediately note the differences in construction and materials .

That's what I thought too, but it isn't Plastic...here are better pics...along with a piece that broke off...This is why I disagree with it being Postwar, I see no indication of postwar material...
