Infantry Officer Visor Cap by Erel

Hi,

Please, I'd like to have some opinions about this visor cap by Erel. I know sweatband is not in better conditions, but I'd like to be sure if cap itself and it's insignia are correct.

The cap with some heraldic lion badge between the eagle and the garland and cockade is a general staff cap. It is not a Panzer cap.

I do not know the purpose of the lion. It was on this cap when I first bought it ca. 1975 and I have left it there ever since.

It may have been stuck there by a US soldier, too, but I do not know, and maybe it was the heraldic crest of some noble general staff officer. At least I hope so.

Maybe it has a Bavarian association, too, because the cap came from A Mueller in Munich.....

Hi Friedrich,

I think you answered my question, at my screen waffenfarbe looked like a panzer pink and insignia seemed to me some kind of a divisional crest.
