The cap itself looks O.K. - the colour of the piping is, however, queer (at least on my screen). In some places it looks greenish and in some other yellowish (which it, as I suppose, should be). Question is, is this a natural discoloration (stemming from the inlay of the piping, which sometimes happened when the cap got wet) or has somebody tried to tint the original piping? If you had it in your hands you could try to check this (best place for this is from the inside at the back where the lining overlaps - if you are careful you can look through the gap there and you can see the original colour of the piping).

    For "correct" colours see here:

I can try to take some daylight pics when i get the cap. And of course have a look for myself. I noticed too that the color looked abit weird. I'll keep you updated!

    Many thanks!

I agree with Erwesa, but to me it looks like natural discoloration.

MG, thanks for the photos! Judging from these - and again it is perhaps just my screen - I rather think there has been some coloration done. On both pics there is a discoloration visible on the LW-blue tricot around the greenish spots on the piping:

You are right, I can also see it now on my phone's screen. Maybe period attempt of transfer to air traffic control?

    Hi,
What should it be? Berlin police cap (postwar?) with coloured piping?
    I 've done it myself.

I don't know for what purpose/when that was done. I think the cap is period - post war Berlin police caps didn't have the mohair LW-centerband weave. Perhaps one of the LW specialists has an idea.
