Need help on this ww2 German navy side cap

I have a chance to pick this up on trade but know nothing about sidecaps, I mainly collect luftschutz helmets and m34 helmets, this does have some moth damage but just need to know does it look legit and is worth $150 in trade

It's a period cap - as to "is it worth".....I'll leave that one up to you

I concur with John. As this is a fairly common cap, in my opinion, it would be better to wait to find one without damage. We prefer on this site to not be a free appraisal service. Check dealer sites around the web to get an idea of value. Always remember the price that you see posted is not always the price that is realized.

Bob I was just seeing it was worth picking up in trade, and if value was ok on it, I like the salty been there done that stuff than the minty stuff
