Hello,
Can anyone tell me whether this cap is authentic?
Also what is an approx value in this condition?
Thank you in advance.

I dont know bout it. Just doesnt feel right...
A few things that strike me as warning signs.
- stitching of the sweatband.
- Also don't like the sloppy stitching on the sweatshield.
- The sweatsheild looks like plastic, instead of celuloid
- Finally, from the pictures I can not identify the maker. Would need better pictures.
Should wait for others with some more experience than I. Happy to stand corrected.
Regards,
Michael

My greatest fear is that one day I will die and my wife will sell my guns for what I told her I paid for them

Anyone else have an opinion on this one?
I dont like it...nothing looks right..To me it looks post war, just doesnt sit right..better pics needed...Mr Stonemint would tell you exactly about this hat, perhaps peruse his excellent thread on fakes
I agree, the shapes on this one don't seem right to me...and the visor looks like plastic used in many repro caps.
Actually, it looks OK from these photographs.
It was made by a cottage maker I have never heard of before--Heinrich Ladantke(?).
Sweatband does not appear re-sewn, just rotted at the edges.
Green underside to the visor is unusual for WH, but common for Police visors, and could be that the maker was just using what he had on hand
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
The Green underside really threw me...If its ok by Stonemint its ok by me
