Original or Fake?

I'm not sure either way on this one. I like the "outside" shots but on the other side the celluloid looks a bit "plastic" from the photo's and the lining rings some alarm bells.

Has this one been discussed before ? I recognise the liner shot from somewhere.

Personally I would leave it.

I do not think you need a link. The opinion of my colleagues is correct. The cap is definitely 4th Reich material.

Glad you haven't bought the cap. It's a tough call these days with some very old and very good fakes about. We all learn the hard way at some point though !

The rule with rare waffenfabre in my experience is too approach them with great carei. I understand that there were not many battalions of smoke troops in the army so that's not a lot of officer caps needed !
