Yes, as stated, it is a post-war BRD veterans visor w/ added TR insignia.
Here is a thread on originals:

“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Glenn! Can you show me a bundeswehr cap like mine? Because I didn't find.
Thank you! But what about the cocade? Black "white" red was used by the reich only, or not?

Not Bundeswehr--Here's a photo of post-war Kyffhaeuser headgear...The insignia on yours is original WWII period, your cap is unfortunately not....
cheers,
Glenn
The Federal Republic diverged rather totally from the organization of veterans than did the III. Reich. I should know about the DDR, but I do not.
From 1945 until the early 1950s, such organizations did not exist in West Germany, and were only re organized after about 1952 or so.
The overview of same is easily found in the Deutscher Soldatenkalender/ Deutsches Soldatenjahrbuch, which was published from the early 1950s until about 2002.
It contained a list of all such organizations, entities, clubs, etc.
Also, these blue yachting caps are hardly limited to this organization, but are found in various shapes and types in every German hat store worth its salt, especially in no. Germany.
I have owned several in more than forty years of life in central Europe.
The Dt. Soldatenkalender also contains odd hints of the Nazi regalia trade in the FRG of long ago, if you read the adverts carefully, i.e. those persons and firms who traded in this stuff long before regalia became globalized and a hot commodity. This source was a powerful one when I started collecting in the 1960s.
Thank you for your really useful help!
If you are careful and prepared to spend some money, you can easily find an original of this cap. Bruce Herman of Grenadier Militaria has one for sale, for instance.
Mr. Mint has made these a special project of his, I guess, and you should correspond with him for able guidance from a leader of our field.
Here: Deutscher Reichskriegerbund Visor Cap
I think Whammond has these, too.
