the badges fake the actual cap doesn't seem right to me as the wear is not consistent at all (the liner looks like someone did it in a shed) whereas the outside looks brand spanking new

Think so too. Inside of cap is not consistent with out side at all. TK is a bad cast. That is how i look at it.

What a mess. They butchered an early vented WH Pz cap to create this monstrosity.
Velvet is incorrect, doesn't lay right, poor edging....bad, bad bad.

Here is another easy "tell" I forgot to mention--note the absence of overhang of the top wool body in relation to the band. (should look like a muffin-top)
