Hi Bob, thanks I will take a look at weave in morning as just jumped in bed but what I have just seen in another thread on here about these is it said that the insignia on the these should be straight stitched whereas the ss ones were zig zag stitched, but my eagle appears to me to be zig zag stitched cheers Dave

I believe there was a thread on here some years ago concerning the correct look re weave on the crown of the beret, as i understood it the weave is quite apparent to see

In my picture you can see the sweater like woolen textile of the beret part in some clarity. I owned three of these, too: a Halfar, the Wagner and a Lubstein, all gone, too.
