Hi all, Does anyone know much about Tschako's? I think they look really cool and woud display nicely with my other german goodies, I do not know that much besides the basics about them so I will let you guys tell me if this one looks good or if any part is fake, they arent terribly expensive or sought after so I assume most are original, thanks for your help.

It is original though a bit moth eaten, and they (Are) sought after IMO .

Definitely sought after. I have been looking for a good one for last 6 months.

Thanks for the reply, and yes I know they are sought after I guess I meant "highly" sought after as compared to other caps/visors. and I dont mind a few somewhat hidden moth holes if it keeps the price low.

another question, The helmet size is covered up by the name label but the liner is stamped 55, what size would that make the helmet?

A 55 corresponds to a US size 6, so that would be a pretty small helmet, if true...

The leather liner is stamped 55, I know in german steel helmets that a liner size 57 usually means a size 64 or 66, I just dont know if that holds true to this style also, most of these I have seen are sized in the mid 50's, if somone else has one with the same liner and a helmet stamp also then I would roughly know the accurate size, Im sure not gonna peel up the name label to have a peek lol.

55 is the actual size head it fits.

British (inch) U.S. (inch) European (cm)
    6 5/8 6 3/4 54
    6 3/4 6 7/8 55
    6 7/8 7 56
    7 7 1/8 57
    7 1/8 7 1/4 58
    7 1/4 7 3/8 59
    7 3/8 7 1/2 60
    7 1/2 7 5/8 61
    7 5/8 8 3/4 62
    7 3/4 7 7/8 63
    7 7/8 8 64

It is a good original helmet and I think being named is a nice bonus.

    Cheers, Ade.
