Postwar Bavarian cap for some unknown organisation.
“Show me the regulation, and I’ll show you the exception.”
Bochum is not in Bavaria. It is in the Ruhr. It is a band cap of some kind for some kind of band connected with whatever civil association, i.e. a municipality, or a club, or whatever. It is also true that blue and white are Bavarian colors, but towns also have heraldry.
Geography is also part of this game.
Kyffhauser Bund cap if I don't miss my guess:
Kyffhäuserbund - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
There is a Kyffhaeuser pin on the cap, but the rest of the cap seems otherwise, with the musicians lyre. You see that one of the sports clubs in Bochum has white and blue logo.
So, do you think it's an erroneously placed Kyffhauser Bund pin? Or, is it a cap for musician in the Kyffhauser Bund? Here's some examples of the lyre being used in conjunction with the Kyffhauserbund(according to this guy anyway).
N.S. Veterans
There was no Kyffhaeuserbund in West Germany after 1945, qua 1949. I think the only badge that is likely organic to the cap is the musician lyre, and very remotely the re jiggered Wehrmacht Kranz und Kokarde, but I do not know.
In any case, I know of no NS organization with such a cap. The Kyffhaeuserbund regalia was quite different, but I am not expert. I think the cap has some other purpose, non military, and surely not of an NS organization at all.
The illustrations you show from the whatever website are of veterans organizations in the era from 1871 until 1945, when they were numerous and decked out in all sorts of stuff....just not this cap.
Gotcha, thanks FB!
I may be wrong, of course. I do not think it is a Third Reich cap.....
Sorry. There are enough real ones to be had with some care, study and treasure...
