Hello Friends
what you think about it, is it original war time period one?
Material looks as original IMO, but I am not expert. All opinions are welcome
best regards Milan

Morning Milan Gard,
the following was noticeable to me:
-no Air vents, I only know originals with Air vents
-the white yarn, the cap has little damages its used. But in the Area of the sweat Band and other Areas the yarn looks like new!
-the Material looks OK for me
I think its an new cap with original Tent track spacing.
Best Regards
Nikolaus
,,I saw this one on the auction block. I also noticed the lack of grommets.
A tough call. I like it...but I still have a lot to learn.
I hope you find a period photo of this one!
cheers,
Paul
Don't forget that a cap authentication section has been added to this area by popular request.

Hi Milan
While still learning about these caps. Some of the early ones did not have grommets but the later ones did. White thread looks too new. Brim is not attached correctly from other examples photos. Agree material may be wartime but cap is most likely not. But i am not the one to make the call on these...just my observations.
Not all have ventilation grommets or embroidered vent holes. Those with the factory applied insignia do not have vent holes of any kind.
That being said, the camo cap does not look original to mee. It is too tall on the front and lacks the two sets of holes for application of insignia. The insignae were sewn on each side separately.
