SS camo m43 style cap

Hi, I've recently got a m43 camo cap, an overprint I think not sure what numbers, but the important part is, it's got a buckram visor/bill. Were these ever used in ww2?
From what I've read, pressed paper or fibre is the usual material for these parts. will post pictures later.

When I found it, there was a skull insignia in the front of the cap...

And where are the insignia now then? Did you remove them?

Of course, I removed the insignia because in this time there was no books on SS uniforms.

??? Strange, so if there are no books about SS, you just removed the insignia...? I don't understand...
Why don't you restore the cap?
