I agree this cap is bad but i reconise the ss rzm labels as being from ss armbands, those may be real and used to make the cap look authentic.

No, the tag on the hat is a repro as well. These are commonly faked.

How can you tell (for learning purposes) and why would they fake a tag that wasn't supposed to be there in the first place (again would like to learn)?

Hi Ron, fakers put tags into and on to things which should not carry them simply to fool the novice collector. People like to stamps, markings etc as they then believe an item is real.
