I would say so I went through a lot of them in late 70's in original material all made up from cut up shelter quarters back then. I don't think I have ever handled a real one in fifty years of collecting however I may have a guy out of California sent me one similar in construction to the one Lebus shows in the early 80's in what collectors call plain tree kind of wish I would have bought it and kept it just for curiosity sake. timothy

No ventholes variant seen on early hats, equipped with reversible insignia, steel vent holes hats has been produced from 1943 year, and has never any insignia on them. Again, the thread starter has wrong construction
