All caps of this type (i.e. with Waffenfarbe) in my possession, and I had two, I just dumped. Too much of a pain in the a$$, frankly.

Also note that one could have a cap repaired at a hatter prior to May 1945, which makes all these things even more problematic for me, at least.

    Happy collecting.

PS I like RZM tags and goofy stamps and leave SS Panzerhelden to the Deutsche Wochenschau in You Tube.

PSS I do not think I can assess this item without looking at it with my eyes and nose.
I find this sort of thing ever more problematic, but at least we have a rubric to stick this item into for the betterment of all.
PSSS One thing I do not like is the size of the cap cover, i.e. it is not tall enough for a cap of this date. However, this criticism is not based on any science or art.

And that's not too much to ask for! I hope I have always been courteous in my endeavors to learn from the more experienced collectors and when I have asked for their assistance - I certainly try to be.

I at least try my best, F-B, despite my occasional (very occasional thankfully) faltering in this regard.

These "colloquial" quasi-religious aphorisms do actually have some merit I must admit, Pat
