Your question is best served in the section of this site on caps. Also, Mr. Mint has enclosed many, many images of these items for comparison in the separate rubric.
Finally, Mr. d'Alquen posted images of a cap of this type, and I have included several grey enlisted caps in complete detail.

Thanks Friedrich-Berthold, That enlisted model cap was possible for ss branch of course, but it's not realy the problem of that cap...
