Hmm, to start with, the TK is a stinker. The eagle too probably but I find it very difficult to judge these.

The cap itself is made from original parts but the lining isn't a good fit and I think the sweatband has been resewn. Hard to tell iif there's a pasteboard of any kind. Based on these photos, I would pass.

My initial reaction was not a tingly positive feeling at first glance.


My questions about the cap would be....... first concern is the insignia but this has been covered in the earlier posts.

Second is the bunching of the cap band material....I would like a closer look to see if this has been added at a later date or just sown over the original.

Third question is the piping...what colour is it ? Is it jager ? Given the small window of production time for branch service ss caps before regulations changed and the limited size of the service and functions in 1940 compared to what they would become I would be cautious.

Finally is the price. No idea what the asking price is for the cap but I know an SS crusher should cost you plenty of $ if you can find it...............

I would pass on this one too.
