Just had a fellow collector offer me this hat for sale, what branch of millitary is it ? does it look authentic ? aaaand what's the basic vlaue?

It is a German Heer (German army) artillery officer visor. You will need pictures of all sides, the inside as well as the insignia if you want the knowledgable members here to give you a definitive answer. Welcome to the forum!

I'm not so sure about this one. It looks a bit like a movie prop to me, but more pictures should tell us for sure.
