What type of eagle is this on this m43 ?

Hello, is this type of eagle insignia a late war variety and would it be found on an m43? I don't recall seeing these before. I'm accustomed to the other type as in the second photo. Thanks, Al

I was very surprised to see this on well known website where I buy lots of stuff from. The eagle obviously looks fake but I thought maybe it was weird variant I had not seen. Thanks, Al

Perhaps it may be a variant. I don't particularly like the look of it............!

I too am used to the 'regular' type - like the one shown in the
second photo - but wait for Ade, Bob, or others
to give expert opinions.

That's one pittifully ugly bird, though !

Without rock solid provenance on the insignia on the first cap, in today's enviroment, I would pass.
The reality of collecting these days is that a variant has no upside.
