Default ww2 luftwaffe flying helmets, fakes?

    Hi all,
I've just purchased a ww2 luftwaffe flying helmet LKpW101 and it's absolutely mint condition with lead and throat mic's and Siemens label. What I would like to know is are these generally faked/copied like a lot of other ww2 German item's seem to be.
Also I would like to know is it's possible to determine the date of these flying helmets from the label.
    Cheers.

Looks unissued, no real sign of wear. Lovely.

Really nice helmet Kevin, don't think you could beat the condition. A pair of goggles and mask would be the finishing touch! Goggles are relatively easy to come by, but the masks are another story as you are probably aware.. Fantastic helmet, well done.

    All the best Geoff

Leather quality these days is lacking - a lot of bicast leather gets used and it's easy to spot ( no blemishes & no substance to it ) and it would take a REAL PROFESSIONAL ( no offense to our Asian fakers ) to achieve the quality of the old days of leathercraft.
