This is a tough one. Of course most DAF caps are piped in Orts blue; I can only imagine that the yellow piping here corresponds to Reichs level within the NSDAP...
I have never seen one with a Central seam.

This type of colored piping (= light blue for Ortswaltung- and Betrieb-, black for Kreis-, bright red for Gau- and golden-yellow for Reich-level assignments was worn by Werkschar members ranked Werkscharmeister, Truppführer, Rottenführer and Werkscharmann. Introduced in June 1937, it was discontinued in March 1938.
(Information as per Wim Saris' Headgear of Hitler's Germany, Vol. 3. Maybe he sees this thread and could elaborate.)
