Page from my gorget-book and its related items, showing
the arm-patch for the flag-bearer of a Gefolgschaftsfahne,
as well as Fähnleinfahne. The patch actually is phrased as:
    Armscheibe.

The wider specimen is an original version; the other one
anyway is a reproduction "from a vet estate or not". "The dealers,
they said they were good". So the dealers do not have any idea
    what they are talking about!

It is my personal opinion that the one, one sees offered quite often,
practically always is a fake. The wider version I have seen offered
only twice in 40 years (one of them is shown here)!

The included photo clearly shows the wearing of the wider version:

Great to learn from those who have first hand experience and knowledge with these artifacts..

Grateful for all the information that is shared here on this site as we all learn what have, and don't have in our collections.

There are many of these patches on dealers sites advertised as originals.I am going to email them and see what they have to say for themselves!
