Just checking on this an HJ Standard Bearers patch.

It looks an original to me, and that is my gut feeling , and is very similar to others I have seen, but is it right do you think? Things are so hard to tell now, and I would hate to catch anyone with a good fake

Any opinions welcome, good or bad. thanks

But as you say, the answers on the HJ forum were..........concise

Agreed, esp. with a fake. If you post it on enough fora, sooner or later, you will get the answer you want to hear!

John I do not study these but if I was out shopping and saw it I would have liked it and for the right price bought it. So do not feel bad.
The weave and all looked good to my untrained eye so I also would have been had.
Thanks any way for the lesson and I have been schooled.

And that is unfortunately how the forums often work... Imagine a thread in the future harryamb where someone asks about this version of the patch and you are the only one who answers. The original poster might think that you know what you're talking about and then go ahead and buy it based on you saying that you "like it". Questions are asked on forums because someone is looking for an answer. Not just any answer but a qualified one. If you can't offer that I would respectfully suggest that it is better to say nothing.
