I received this badge today, and I wonder if it is original or not?
I notice a backing, which connects with the pin badge is rectangular.
All early model I saw was oval or round

Not familiar with HJ bades but the pin plate is acceptable for early manufactured badges as this Ges Gesch suggests. I'd take the chance on this badge too, the font looks right, enamel looks good, and stippling is early style. I like it.
