Is the number 147?
The pennant is for the BDM; number 315 is for the Hochland-district,
with its headquartes at Nördlingen and since about 1939 at Donauwörth,
according to an official address-list.
Thank you Wim...im not sure about the number,i dont have it in hand yet...I always thought the L denoted Leather..wasnt sure if someone just stuck the RZM on there...Nördlingen is in a very beautiful part of Bavaria. Even more happy its BDM
The L with such paper tag (rot bedruckte Erkennungsmarke) has nothing to do with leather.
The letter means the value for the tag for cloth items: from A (1/2 Pfennig) up through P
(50 Pfennig). The L did cost 20 Pfennig and was for an article with a specific price-class.
See part of information from the 1938 RZM Herstellungsvorschriften (manufacturing-regulations):
If the number indeed is 147 then the item was made by the concern of Julius Scheuerle
from Frankfurt/Main.
Also from the RZM 1938:
Thanks once again Wim, you are indeed a man of knowledge and generosity...your books are always a fantastic read
