Received some good news today. I will probably be able to add the original 1933 pattern Dienstmütze to the grouping in a couple of weeks time. After that the whole set will be together again.
The field cap is in great condition but has been stored in a bag or such for over 50 years so it needs to be looked after (straightened out a bit prepared for proper storage) by a textile conservator specialized in caps.

Very nice, you can see that the creases match up with the one in the photo.
That's an amazing grouping, Jan, very well done, even if I am a little late to the party on this one..
I'd love to still have uniform pieces of my grandpa's uniform but sadly that has been lost at some point..
I am very glad also to hear that you intend to keep it all together, as it should be with a find like that!
Sure something not everyone does when they get such items..

Added Karl Gräsers "Der Hitlerjunge Quex" to the grouping. The book is a 1932 Nazi propaganda novel based on the life of Herbert “Quex” Norkus.
The 1933 film "Hitlerjunge Quex: Ein Film vom Opfergeist der deutschen Jugend" was based on the novel and was described by Joseph Goebbels as the "first large-scale" transmission of Nazi ideology using the medium of cinema.
Both the book and the filmfictionalised and glorified death in the service of the Nazi Party and Adolf Hitler.
