57er Erdkampfabzeichen der Luftwaffe......

Gents, another 57er on its way to me as we speak, sellers photos until I get it in hand ! An early Luftwaffe Erdkampfabzeichen with wartime rear hardware...a St u L made piece as evident by the bevelling of the inner area of the wreath circumfrence.....I have been after an early example of this award for some time.......

Hi Nick...on this example it appears it is glued on......wartime ones were rivited 1,2 or 3 rivits, late war pieces could be one piece.....I think some 57er versions were rivited, I will have to do some research on that !

Both early and late 57er badges by St u L can be either riveted or glued ! but as far as I can tell only one rivet is ever used, unlike wartime awards where up to three were used depending on manufacturer...it is considered a bonus if your 57er is riveted !
