Well done. Fine material. Thanks. The Bundesheer is a great love of mine.

Hi everyone, I'm putting together an ad hoc 1980s Bundesheer kit and I need a bit of advice. I've seen photographs of both the earlier leather harness + belt, and for later what seems to be an American M1967 harness + pistol belt. I cant afford or really find any M1959 pea dot clothing, so I've decided to use the OD clothing with pea dot camo of whatever I can find (e.g. I have the camo canteen and shovel covers). My question is, for this sort of kit, which would be the most accurate harness + belt to use? I really cant seem to find much material on it online.
I would appreciate any help with this!

Hi FinMC,
when I was in the Austrian Army in the 1980ies we had the woven belt (with plastic clasp) and harness in OD - with the old leather ammo-pouches mounted, as we were issued the StG 58.
Perhaps you know these sources already, but anyway:

Hi FinMC,
yes, these were the items.

Does the bread bag also connect to the belt by D clips on belt loops, like the canteen?

I don't know what the d-clips were for, but obviously you could also attach a strap with which you could hang it round your shoulder. Perhaps the older ÖBH specialists can help here.
