Bundeswehr Berets and soft caps....

Gents, here is an example of a Sanitatstruppe (Medical troops) beret, in dark blue, circa July 1989, note the air vent grommets are colour coded ! and the leatherette flap covering the four prongs of the badge on the interior....

And a 60's to mid 70's Airborne/Fallshirmjager beret, with early badge with no national flag motif, these came later when all of the Bundeswehr switched to berets.

Sorry Tom, I meant to label the badges, top to bottom , left to right, 1st row, :- Panzergrenadier, Fernmeldetruppen, Pioneertruppen. 2nd row, :- Sanitatstruppen, Heeresfliegertruppen, Artillerietruppe. 3rd row :- another Heeresfliegertruppen, BGS cap eagle/cockade, Reservist proficiency badge (Leistungsabzeichen).
I show a photograph of a Heeresflieger reservists tunic showing the badge (Silver class) being worn, note the coloured shoulder strap slip ons and breast hanger, indicating a Reservist without portfolio, i.e. not on active service. The badge is only filling a space on the board until I obtain another cap/beret badge ! Hope that helps, Prost ! Steve.
