Indeed Reibert, the Austrian Bundesheer had 42 M41 Walker Bulldogs between 1960 to 1979. Germanys upgraded variants, usually had a larger gun and/or a diesel engine.
    Prost ! Steve.

    Dear Steve,

Very nice find friend. Having been to Landshut many times I was intriged by your pictures. Very familiar settings. I was told by friends there was an old Kasern and Panzer training ground in the area. Of course I have visited Walhalla there a few times. I thought the Jagt Panzer was an M48 or Patton tank of the late 40s or 50s vintage. It almost looked like the light gun (motor tank) was something out of the TR days and also the old pattern camos and look of training.

Very Neat and interesting my dear fellow.

    Yours,

    -Jaeger

image 5 shows an M41 "Walker Bulldog", images 3, 4 and 6 an M24 "Chaffee", but, what´s about the tanks showing in image 1 and 2 ?
Reibert, they were known in the Bundeswehr as the "M47 Kampfpanzer" and every where else as the M47 Patton tank. Produced 1951 TO 53. The Bundeswehr also used the later version Patton tank the M48 alongside the M47, until both tanks were replaced by the Leopard 1 in the mid 60's. Prost ! Steve.

A bit of trivia on the side - One of the Austrian Army's M47 tank drivers would later become rather well-known:
Motts Military Museum and Arnold Schwarzenegger
    Great information...thanks HPL2008 !
    Prost ! Steve.

A few weeks ago I catched app. 100 images from an Austrian Bundesheer tank-unit, (pic´s were shot in the late 60ie´s), at a flea market.

Did you post this album I would like to see some of the pictures!
