Re: Bundeswehr veterans and the 57' awards.
Excellent set Karsten, all early pieces, I would imagine very difficult to obtain now !......Tom, commonly known as the "Luftwaffe battle badge" and highly controversial within the collecting community ! was it, wasnt it.....see here Luftwaffe Badges
Prost ! Steve.

Re: Bundeswehr veterans and the 57' awards.
Tom...thats the issue here....many including the author of the above link doubt it was ever issued/awarded, it was authorised as stated....so I guess there are NO photographs of wear....it is believed by many that only prototypes were contructed, I have never seen an authenticated piece, many fakes yes !

Re: Bundeswehr veterans and the 57' awards.
wouldn't that mean that if it was only in prototype form that there wouldn't be a 57er version?

Hi Tom,
They never got around to produce these and several other before the war ended, however they are official 1957 version and are described and illustrated in the official documents.
So as a 57er version they are genuine, but not in wartime versions.
