My first Infanterie Sturmabzeichen arrived today. It has the distinctive Deumer hardware.
I've noticed it has traces of red paint on one of the oakleaves, left of the rifle.
A good identifying feature of a Deumer Infanterie Sturmabzeichen without looking at the pin, is the cut in the sling near the but stock. S&L examples don't have this.
I've got a S&L example on the way, will show when it arrives.
Nice looking badge Ingrid. Is it definitely paint or maybe crayon?
Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....
Very nice Ingrid!
Although they do seem to be lacking something.

Searching for anything relating to, Anton Boos, 934 Stamm. Kp. Pz. Erz. Abt. 7, 3 Kompanie, Panzer-Regiment 2, 16th Panzer-Division (My father)
Very nice 57 collection Ingrid.
Indeed a Deumer Ingrid....but with a flat catch instead of the distinctive Deumer round wartime version ! good catch !
Prost ! Steve.
Thank you Kevin and Steve.
Perhaps a toothpick might remove the red stuff? Being soft wood it won't scratch the surface.
