My Bundeswehr and 57er awards collection

Article about: Thanks Steve. I've got a marked Deumer kvk1 on the way. And I'm also following an early Zerstörer-Kriegsabzeichen to keep my minesweeper badge company. Regards

Steve, the inner part is marked 637.KB. on the backside. This means it's of wartime manufacturing? Regards
It certainly does ! I believe "637.KB." is the marking of "Klein & Quenzer" who made these boxes and supplied them to other award makers, I have the similar marking in my EK I box...late wartime production !
    Prost ! Steve.

My first Infanterie Sturmabzeichen arrived today. It has the distinctive Deumer hardware.

I've noticed it has traces of red paint on one of the oakleaves, left of the rifle.

A good identifying feature of a Deumer Infanterie Sturmabzeichen without looking at the pin, is the cut in the sling near the but stock. S&L examples don't have this.
I've got a S&L example on the way, will show when it arrives.

Nice looking badge Ingrid. Is it definitely paint or maybe crayon?

Looking for LDO marked EK2s and items relating to U-406.....

    Very nice Ingrid!
Although they do seem to be lacking something.

Not crayon. I tried to remove it with a small brush, but it didn't work.
I shall leave it be, it doesn't detract much.

Perhaps a toothpick might remove the red stuff? Being soft wood it won't scratch the surface.
