Unknown gasmask can - BW?

Hey All - just saw this online for sale - I don't think I have ever seen one before...maybe BW? Or not even military?
Does anyone know more about it?

Yep, quite so. It is similar in appearance to the BW gas mask canister but is somewhat larger. The 14 digit number in white around the lid is the NATO Stock Number (NSN) and the 5th and 6th digits ("12") are the National Identification Number (NIN) which identify this as a W.German item (all Germany these days), each participating nation codifies items in this manner, eg; 01 would be US items, 99 is UK.
