Article about: Here are a few itmes with full provenance that were once the property of Leutnant Willy Unger Flugzeugführer IV.(Sturm)/JG 3 "Udet" who was awarded the Ritterkreuz on 23/10/1944 .

    Default Willy Unger JG3 Ritterkreuztrager !!

    Here are a few itmes with full provenance that were once the property of Leutnant Willy Unger Flugzeugführer IV.(Sturm)/JG 3 "Udet" who was awarded the Ritterkreuz on 23/10/1944 .

    They are both postwar items , the Wappen of JG3 and the Armelstreifen of JG3 and were sent as a gift !!

    Willy Unger flew 59 missions in ME 109's , FW 190's and finally the ME 262 ( no combat missions flown ) , he was shot down 3 times and scored 22 victories , 19 Four Engined Bombers ( B24's , B 17's ) and 3 Russian aircraft during the final Battles around Berlin !!

    Luckily for collectors Willy had signed many photos before the onset of Parkinsons and his daughter in law Andrea carried on replying on his behalf !!

    I don't know when Willi got sick, but I received these in Sept 2004.

    Thanks Steve due to my friendship with a veteran of 9 Staffel JG3 although not usually a Luftwaffe man i have been fortunate to have much contact with JG3 Veterans !!

    Harry Will has been with the Grossen Armee since 2005 so suffers no longer !!
