Not for me ether.
Looks like there is a lot of fresh rust spots over it. Plus of coarse the fact that I don’t even think its an m1c airborne helmet. Judging from the chin strap.
I don’t think its someone with a big heart selling this. Up to you of coarse!

Even though this is a bad lid with a good story it makes me wonder how many germans did take or keep items off of dead US soldiers such as helmets, knives etc etc and if those items are still sitting somewhere or being sold as such.

All the years in Germany never saw any ww2 US stuff always German.
But I always also wonder if they did.
