It is a M3.
Chris
Its a M3 marine dagger minus the leather grip rings, which appear to have rotted away
Chris is correct: US-M3 knife, the 'best' item in this lot. The M3 was
Army issue - Marines got the Mark 2.
The 506 helmet is cool for display even though it has been faked.
You can see sanding marks on the insignia which was done
to make it look 'aged'. I wouldn't mind it.........

Steve.
Steve is correct of course, my mistake, the marine dagger had the "bowie "type blade
Please post better pics of the other helmet.
To my knowledge the M-3 fighting knife was issued to army forces mainly, Paratroopers and Rangers got priority then some made their way to regular infantry. If you were issued a carbine you were generally issued a m-3 to make up for the bayonet, and sometimes if you were issued a thompson and even more rarely a garand you revived one. I personally own a px m-3 that is form the WWII era so soldiers could have even purchased them this appears to be a issued one though. Please correct me if im wrong -Ben
Who is the maker of the 'PX' M3 ?
Regards,
Steve.
So is this dagger worth anything in this condition? If so how much ballpark? I hope I can cover the fake helmet and still break even. Thanks, Greg
