thanks guys i still need to sew the chin strap in place as its just on loose at the mo. yeah Ade its becoming so hard to find good original US helmets at a good price even good referbs / replicas are going for allot of money these days but as with all militaria even these are faked especially the fixed D bail types as they can go for £1000's cause they're so rare

All you gents are correct about the U.S. helm's they are going up in price and if you have an interest stock up on them now because you'll kick yourself in the rear for not buying now.

Fixed bales are hard to come by without heavy denting and broken bales.

thanks mate & indeed you are correct Ive now been lucky enough to get 2 still in good condition but as more people cotton on the how rare these are becoming then it'll be even harder to find any at a good price im now even seeing the price of British WW2 helmets shooting up
