Any details about this M1 liner

Article about: I have been researching this liner, trying to learn anything about it. Unfortunately I am very uneducated on anything after WWII. All I can tell is that this liner is after WWII and it's an

    Hi Rod,in 1961 when Firestone was issued its first postwar contract,they dropped the shield around the F as they never had the same tool mold heads as the ones they used during ww2,so to add the shield would have been massive cost and time delay etc...............
