Ebay find - schlueter helmet any thoughts?

Hello,
I found this helmet on Ebay and picked it up for $18.00.
Any thoughts would be appreciated.
Does the paint look original?
I think the MP was painted on later but I dont know about the white.
Would you strip the white paint off?
I was going to take mineral spirits to the MP.

those MP markings look original to the painted white shell, I sure wouldnt remove it, it looks better the way it is now

nice Schlueter shell, and a cheap price to, i would leave it as it is also. Are you going to get a liner for it,?.

I will likely get a 50's Korean War era liner.
I guess I could go WWII liner also.

OK, I got it today.
It looks better than I thought it would.
It is hard to see in pics but the white has that aged yellow tinge to it.
Marked 551A with the Schuleter S under front brim.
Swivel Bail with sewn on straps.

looks good being a SCHLUETER shell its WW2 as they never made them post war as for the MP paint job looks good could be late to post war from the type of chin strap ?
