Recently acquired this clean, first pattern USMC cover.

It came with a Vietnam era shell and 69 dated liner, which the seller stated he married the cover to.

I had an early fixed loop McCord with early Westinghouse liner that I thought would be more appropriate for the cover.

Cover has what is likely a post-war added EGA.

You need to post this on the sub forum for M1 helmets. Nice lid and cover would love to see the reverse side of of it and more pics of the helmet without cover and liner would be good

Thanks, Redstalker. I messaged an Admin asking it be moved over. Thought I had posted it in the M1 subsection.

    Gel,
This cover is righteous in my opinion, however would be curious to hear what concerns you have.

No concerns over the cover. Just wanted to see both sides of the cover. Would love to see more pics of the liner and the helmet without the cover, you have a really nice lid

Also nice to see a 1st Pattern Rayon westy,i guess the sweatband was added?cover is nice, would have been better without the EGA stamp but nevertheless still a cool item.

    Thanks, gentlemen!

The helmet shell was picked up separate from the cover, with a bunch of other items from a single seller on Craigslist. It's a fixed loop McCord, with heat stamp 363, dating it towards the end of 1942 (Nov/Dec).

Liner is as mentioned an early Westinghouse with rayon suspension. I picked this up at flea market. It came with the sweatband, which has definitely been replaced.

Indeed there are Phil. Searched it when I acquired the liner, and gave up when I saw how many matches there were.
