Hello,
I picked up this rough helmet with rough Hawley Liner today for $110.00.
Did I do OK?
What are your thoughts on value of the liner alone?
How about the helmet alone?
I may put the liner in a FB and sell the shell.
I know its in rough shape but it is a fairly rare liner so I took a chance.

hello you did pretty well on this helmet the liner alone is worth about 150-175 USD

I think you did well. Why not display the liner on its own? The surface of it is in pretty good shape, and with it facing to the right it looks ok. Also, it seems you have a "double wire" sweatband in there. They are quite rare in their own right, although it's seen better days.
It is unusual to see an early liner like that in the later steel pot, maybe they are not an original pair, but I think you did well, very well!

Thanks for the info guys. It is funny you (aj4010) say to display it on its own. I was thinking the same thing.
I may even sell the shell - Its not in that great of shape and if I clean it up (get the paint specs off) and put in a 50s liner, I can probably get $50-$60).
