    i would not trust the seller that this is original with such poor pictures M-2's are highly faked as they command such high prices.

    I can see the pics now.Try asking for good clear close ups of where the bales are welded on, inside and out.
    Does it have any solid provenance?

    Don’t know what to make of this one.
    I don’t like the lid chin straps the pattern looks more horizontal than parallel with no ware what’s so ever and the colour of the stitching looks odd though that may be something to do with the picture.
    And perhaps someone might correct me but surely with an early liner like this it would have cast buckles instead of wire buckles on the ‘A’ straps for a westy.
    Also the inside of the chin cup has a lot of ware compared to the rest of the liner.
    The fact you didn’t get detailed pictures of the vital parts that might have determined originality would make me wary. Or the heat stamp!
    Are you sure this guy is a m1 collector?
