I don't believe the shell goes with the helmet, but maybe 175 for this one, I've seen some real nice ones goes cheap on ebay I would just wait as Ryan said and try for better. I would not rush into this just wait or you'll buy this one and see one much nicer for cheaper it happens all the time just wait for better to come up

I've seen a couple guys I know who seller quality helmets on ebay I will tell you if one them puts a Hawley on

That is a 3rd pattern Hawley and the least desirable.
Prices on them have dropped way down, especially on these.
You can pick one up on ebay by waiting and watching.
Also the ones you have shown are in poor shape.

Hi Jake,
1st Pattern has the white rayon webbing and the leather chin strap is attached to the liner (fixed so it can not be removed).
2nd Pattern has the green khaki webbing but still has the leather chin strap attached to the liner (fixed so it can not be removed).
3rd Pattern has the Khaki webbing and removable chinstrap.
See "The M-1 Helmet of the World War II GI" by Oosterman.
It is the best book IMHO for collecting the US M1 helmet of WWII.
