What a great piece of history. Hopefully the daughters will keep it safe and maybe pass it down to those in the family who will honor it for what it is and to honor the man who wore it.

    Hi John,
Not sure as I live considerably north of there. It actually looks to be kept fairly well considering. Wait for others who collect helmets to add their opinions.

Best is to keep it out of the Sun in stable moderate humidity and temperature. No large swings....

Ok......I think her garage is fairly stable temp wise and it is definitely out of the sun and dust.

    Thanks!

I would be concerned long-term about the garbage bag, as it may cause moisture (Not that California has much of that right now!) to accumulate and rust the helmet and affect the leather and webbing. I would ultimately try to convince your friend just to find the helmet a nice spot inside, whether or not it is actually on display.

Ok.....I will definitely convey your concerns to her......I agree.....it really should be inside the house.

    Thanks so much!

    Admin,

Oh, oh.....I was just made aware of the fact that the use of off site photo hosting is against the rules and regulations....I thought I was doing good by not using your server, but after reading the sticky, I now understand that off site hosting could cause grief for the admin.

So, I could easily repost the pictures to your server.....please let me know!

    Thanks!
