Help with M1 helmet please

Hello everyone, this helmet is finishing on ebay shortly and I am thinking of bidding on it. I already have a WW2 liner and am wanting a shell to go with it - clearly the photos are small as they are from ebay, but I would be grateful for opinions, is the paint WW2? Any other comments welcome. Many thanks, Douglas

Hard to tell the shade of green on a picture, But I would say the outside has been repainted at some time due to the fact that there is not much sign of cork over it. perhaps flattened due to repaint maybe.

Agree on the repaint.
I would wait for a better one.
If you buy that helmet you are going to have to buy or find replacement chin straps.
That will cost you more in the long run.

Good for you.
I am sure a better one will come along.
Just keep searching ebay.
Type in searches like "helmet" under Militaria and page through them.
Eventually one will pop up - probably mismarked or not ID'd as a FB and you will get a good price too.

Or talk to owners of helmets that they are asking a lot of money for, they may accept a low offer after they get to know you. It works for me sometimes
