Late NAM era M-1 with OD cover ?

ok guys this is my latest win on eBay that turned into one big headache as the seller was having trouble with his PayPal & took nearly 2 weeks to sort out any way long story short finally got it sorted & it turned up today



im very happy with this the cover is stuck to the shell & all looks like its been together for a long time the only two doubts i have with this is the chin straps as they look to be newer than the rest of the set up & it also looks like someone has tried to repair the liner webbing ??

on closer inspection of the liner theres something written on it but cant quite make out what ??

the ink stamp on the cover looks to be THTC ??

looks good. why is the liner shell red? i have a couple and i dont know why.

the liner has a reddish look because the outer paint has been removed

its marked with an M so i think that makes it a MARMAC liner ?

the shell and and cover and liner seem to be well used. but there seems to be no wear on the chin strap or buckles very hard for me to think why that is. but i think this is a good complet m1 like the cover too. looks like to me a signature on the liner. glad to here you got this helmet in the end.

Ive got a feeling the whom ever tried to repair the liner webbing also added the chin strap maybe it was originally missing ?

its the first time Ive seen one turn up with an OD cover but i guess its not to uncommon as it didn't get a lot of interest !!!!
