m1 - is this color ok?

Article about: Ok, so 282 on the chart sets it at about august-september 1942. My helmet has swivel bales, which weren't added until october 1943. Why, then, does a 1942-made helmet have swivel bales?

Default m1 - is this color ok?

Hello all, does this helmet appear to have post-war paint on it? I'm trying to sharpen my m1-dating skills, and I'm not very good when deciding on color :/

    This is the latest one:

I do know it is a mid-war example with the swivel bales and steel hardware. Thanks

Thanks for the responses, I think I am going to jump on it. I don't think it will go for too high a price, and I personally prefer the McCord look. I will be sure to post some pictures of it with my liner if I do happen to purchase it

Well, the helmet went for $82. That's about the peak of what I think it was worth; but that being said, I bought it Not the greatest deal, but I've been looking for some time, and my liner deserves a good pot.

I will post some pictures when I recieve it, which should be about thursday.

I just recieved the helmet in the mail. The heat stamp is 282 A (A under the numbers). I don't have the McCord production charts, so could someone tell me when this was approximately made? Judging from others, I think early 1944.
