M1 fixed bale front seam & inland liner

Article about: Hi, I recently bought this M1 & liner here in NZ. It is a fixed bale front seam M1 with an Inland liner (51). The helmet has been painted green at sometime and has non-US, probably Briti

Schlueter stamps are not always obvious

The shell is definitely a Schlueter fixed bail based on the curved bails in your photos. From all the Schlueter shells I owned, not all were stamped with the large "S" under the visor; this is could be due to weak stamping or just them getting missed. I had one Schlueter shell that had the "S" stamped right under the bail instead of the visor area.

I agree with Pat it’s a Schlueter. Do you have a picture of the front seam on the helmet for the inside of the helmet?

OK, wow, this is getting more interesting than I first thought. Thanks for all the info. I never imagined it might be a Schlueter shell.

I've attached a photo of the front seam weld and rim. No big S, but I guess that's not definitive of the type. YOu can just make out the heat stamp in the pic.

    Thanks, Esq.

I have one stamped near the bale, think outside the box.
